Who it's for

The Playola World of Color player is for Flash developers, but you need little or no Actionscript experience to customize it. Only basic HTML skills are required.

You need Flash 8 Professional or later. If you don't already have a copy of the Flash authoring program, you can download a free 30 day trial from the Adobe Web site.

Pick a color ... any color!

Choose a color for your control panel. Any color! Mix and match hues and transparencies for button backgrounds and foregrounds, thumb and slider, time indicators, and audio control.

Choose a single control panel color or a gradient. And if you want, pick a transparency to let the background show through. Unlimited possibilities!

Timeline controls, through thick or thin (and small and large)

The "slider" is the thumb and timeline bar that lets your users seek to different parts of the video. In addition to selecting any color scheme, you can change the size of the thumb from a small dot to a large block. Expand the timeline bar from thin to fat.

Presto-chango control panel layouts

By changing just a few values in the Playola setup file, you can move elements of the control panel exactly where you want them. Or make elements you don't want disappear!

Add your own clickable logo and branding

Add a logo graphic to any corner of the video. Adjust its transparency to make it opaque or see through. Even add a URL destination that opens a Web page of your choice if the logo is clicked.

Playola World of Color comes with several premade animated "Big Play" button graphics.

Pick one, then, then select a color, size, and transparency. Built-in animation (which you can control) ensures visitors see the button, and know to click on it to start the video.

You can even customize the video buffer wait circle ("throbber") by selecting a size, color, and transparency.

Or, if you don't want the throbber to ever appear, you can do that too.

A. No, this version does not. It is intended for use with any progressive download video, which applies to the vast majority of video website applications.
